As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement.
Typical work assignments will include:
- Providing a wide variety of technical support services to coordinate teleconferences and distance learning activities.
- Installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting commonly used hardware and software.
- Assisting in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems.
- Using general knowledge of programming languages and tools.
- Supporting litigation through the use of information technology to develop data and graphic representations of evidence in a courtroom setting.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
Individuals must meet both:
- The Basic Requirement through either A. Education or B. Experience; AND
- The Specialized Experience described below.
GS-7:
A. Education:
- One full year of graduate level education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or network AND meet Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) based on ONE of the following: (1) class standing (upper third standing in graduating class); OR (2) grade point average (2.95 or higher overall or over the last two years of bachelor's degree or 3.45 in my major field or over the last two years in my major); OR (3) election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.
IT related experience that demonstrated each of the four competencies below. Experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, certification), as appropriate. This experience may include duties such as solving network related problems, installing updates and patches to existing programs, and troubleshooting connectivity issues with software/hardware.

- Master's or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement above,to be eligible at the GS-07 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting with performing a variety of tasks associated with the operations and administration of IT systems. Examples of specialized experience may include applying IT principles and practices to provide software/hardware maintenance support; building or maintaining web or internet and intranet sites; providing user assistance on basic computer applications; and/or assisting with network monitoring and management.
GS-9:
In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement above,to be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting with performing a variety of tasks associated with the operations and administration of IT systems. Examples of specialized experience may include assisting with projects such as imaging, managing, and/or deploying customer workstations and peripherals; performing initial diagnosis for troubleshooting user account problems and providing workstation user network account support; and assisting with Installation, troubleshooting and/or updating customized software.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
