Summary:
The individual in this position will support the Compliance Department by drafting and reviewing various types of contracts, managing contract lifecycle process, and maintaining contract templates. In addition to contract support, the Compliance Paralegal will assist with broader compliance responsibilities, including monitoring and tracking legal and regulatory developments in the insurance and mortgage servicing industries, maintaining internal policy documentation, and supporting regulatory inquiries and audits. The ideal candidate will have experience in the mortgage servicing industry and a strong understanding of compliance obligations under federal and state laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Contract Review and Lifecycle Management
- Draft, review, and track various types of agreements with third party vendors and client, including Service Agreements, SaaS Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements,
- Manage contract lifecycle, including contract initiation, negotiation, completion, compliance, and termination.
- Compliance Research and Support
- Conduct legal and regulatory research related to insurance, mortgage servicing, consumer protection, and compliance obligations
- Stay updated on changes in relevant federal and state laws and mortgage servicing guidelines
- Perform impact reviews and track implementation of changes to laws and regulations
- Assist with internal and external audits and risk assessments
- Assist in answering compliance related client and internal inquiries
- Assist in implementing and updating compliance policies, procedures, and training
- Assist with special projects and other department tasks
- Adhere to a set schedule

Qualifications:

Required:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal Certificate; CRCM
- 5+ years of compliance and contract management experience, preferably in insurance or mortgage servicing
- Strong knowledge of insurance and mortgage servicing laws and regulations, and FNMA/FHLM servicing.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a busy department with competing priorities
- A self-starter, and ability to show initiative
- Proficient with MS Office- Specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to use discretion, exercise good judgment and resourcefulness, tact, diplomacy and maintain strict confidentiality
Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
- Repetitive motion. Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
- Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
- Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
- Sedentary work. Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
- Worker not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Pay Range
70,000 - 90,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
