Job Summary:
Directs company strategy around Federal, State, and local regulatory compliance pertaining to safety, including those for OSHA and the ADA. Works with diverse clients, provides strategic legal advice, mitigates risk, and contributes to the growth and success of our business.
Essential Job Functions:
- Risk and Safety Management
- Ensure companywide compliance with OSHA, ADA, and other federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Develop and distribute company OSHA guidance documents, safety manuals, trainings, and compliance updates.
- Investigate and resolve OSHA and ADA complaints.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and on-site inspections of gym locations to evaluate safety standards, equipment, and facility conditions.
- Oversee fire safety compliance, including egress plans, extinguishers, alarm systems, and annual inspections.
- Regulatory Responses
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure company compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external legal counsel as necessary.
- Contract Review
- Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on customer-related issues, regulatory requirements, and compliance matters.
- Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
- Risk Management
- Identify legal and regulatory risks
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and measures to protect the company's interests.
- Manage liability claims asserted against the company, including those related to personal injury, property damage or business interruption.
- Evaluate the merits of claims and develop strategies for resolution, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
- Work closely with insurance carriers and claims adjusters to facilitate the claims handling process.
- Initiate and coordinate litigation efforts
- Review insurance policies and coverage provisions to determine applicable coverage for claims.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree required. Juris Doctorate or completion of Juris Doctorate (JD) by May 2026 required.
- Admission to the Bar in Pennsylvania or plan to take Bar Exam in 2026 (required)
- 0-2 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on regulatory compliance, and litigation (required)
- Strong ability to research and understand relevant laws and regulations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to gym locations across multiple regions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
