- Description
The Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) oversees organizational operations including the areas of Finance/Facilities, Human Resources, Information Technology and Data. The DCOS provides leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the Office has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively carry out the mission of the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. - Examples of Duties
- Supervise, support and provide guidance to the Operations management team, including Director of Human Resources, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Data Officer and Director of Unclaimed Property.
- Work closely with the Chief of Staff to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the OAG.
- Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators.
- Partner with other OAG Executive Team (Core 4), Chief Counsels, Section Chiefs and other Senior Directors to accomplish short and long-term operational goals.
- Positively represent the OAG at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor.
- Advise the OAG Executive Team on issues related to operations and provide recommendations as requested. These may include finance/budget, HR, Unclaimed Property, Data/Visualizations, Technology and/or other related issues.
- Ensure fiscal transparency and stewardship of the OAG by monitoring and ensuring ethical and compliant financial practices.
- Monitor contracts and leases and ensure timely review, renewal and/or execution to provide seamless operations for the OAG.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business, financial or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred but not required.
- 7 or more years of executive-level experience in managing company/organization operations of mid-large sized.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in a business, financial or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10 or more years of experience in an executive-level position in a medium-or large-size organization and/company. Public sector experience desired.
