Overview
The Mail Room Intake and Imaging Specialist supports the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Benefits Coordination and Recovery Center (BCRC). This position processes complex Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) correspondence received from a variety of sources (including beneficiaries, attorneys, insurance companies, and government agencies) through multi-layered batch processes from intake and scanning to indexing and retention.

Role Requirements
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Education and Experience:
- Must have an Associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a Mailroom or Medicare Recovery environment preferred, including: Medicare policies and procedures, MSP related systems (ReMAS, CWF/HIMR, ECRS, HIGLAS, BCRS, and image repositories)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Demonstrate competent communication skills orally and written.
- Must be able to work in an on-site-only position with strict scheduling requirements and meet deadlines and goals.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a position of public trust vetting.
- Must be able to pass a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.
- Must have U.S. Citizenship, as required per government contract.
Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that a team member must meet to perform the essential functions of the job successfully. Flexibility related to work hours as project demands arise. Position is primarily sedentary in nature but will involve walking or standing.

- Must be able to remain in a stationary computer position for extended periods.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to type, handle, and reach.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms for using a computer.
