Job Description

The Atlanta office of BakerHostetler is seeking an associate (4-7 years of experience) to join its nationally ranked Labor and Employment Group, recognized by Chambers USA and Best Law Firms. The Atlanta-based Employment Deal team represents and advises public and private companies, as well as senior executives and management teams, on employment laws, restrictive covenants, employment-related litigation, executive compensation and contract negotiations, and corporate deal support involving employment law issues. The practice regularly includes a blend of sophisticated litigation, counseling, and transactional work.

Qualifications include:
• At least four years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
o  Labor and Employment litigation
o Non-compete and restrictive covenants matters
o Reviewing, negotiating, drafting, or revising employment related agreements
o Advice and counsel on legal compliance for employers
o The employment components of corporate transactions
• Proficiency in legal research, fact development, deposition preparation, written discovery and discovery disputes, and drafting motions and briefs
• Am Law 100 experience is strongly preferred
• Strong academic record with a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school
• Admission to practice in Georgia or eligibility to waive into the Georgia Bar
 
Successful candidates will have demonstrated: 

• Excellent project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive the litigation process
• Exceptional legal research, persuasive writing, and oral communication skills; law review or comparable experience indicating significant research and writing ability is a plus
• Ability to manage a fast-paced workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues
• The professional judgment, client service focus, and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative, cross office team environment
