Position Overview:
The Legal Intern is responsible for part-time support to all American Outdoor Brands with respect to Corporate legal matters. This position will report directly to the Managing Attorney.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists legal department in researching and analyzing applicable law and regulations
• Maintain legal files and databases
• Coordinate with outside counsel on legal issues applicable to the business
• Prepares, examines, negotiates and revises contracts
• Ensures contracts are consistent with management's goals, policies, and procedures
• Handles the acquisition, distribution, and storage of agreements
• Assures that all clarifications and amendments of negotiations are incorporated into the contracts
• Maintain and audits a central contract-resource file
• Interface with internal/external customers to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies and procedures
• Support the development and implementation of business processes, procedures and tools and ensure that necessary procedural controls exist
• Assist with employee training
• Other duties as may be assigned
• Complete all necessary training as required by assigned department and position
• Participate in and follow all company initiatives and procedures

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Juris doctorate candidate preferred
• 2 or more years of professional work experience preferred

• Possess basic knowledge of applicable areas of law, including product liability, intellectual property, contracts, commercial transactions, and corporate law

• Must meet all ITAR requirements and have the legal ability to possess firearms and ammunition
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and database skills
• Must have strong command of the English language, in both oral and written communications
Physical Demands:
• Works in an office environment.
• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
• Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
