
Probate Paralegal

Our Probate Department is a vital part of our mission, and we’re seeking a driven Probate Paralegal who is passionate about helping families navigate the legal process during their most vulnerable times.
Key Responsibilities of our Probate Paralegal
- Managing probate filings across multiple jurisdictions for mass tort claims
- File management from start to finish, including the preparation of pleadings and documents relevant to client files.
- Manage workflow through the court system.
- Assisting with the preparation, formatting, filing, and signing of legal documents.
- Organizing and managing client files, including digital, share-drive, and paper files.
- Answering incoming calls to the firm and scheduling consultations, taking messages, or directing calls.
- Preparing correspondence letters and/or emails to clients or other parties
- Working closely with attorneys and Probate Court for full administration of estates, appointment of Trustee and filing the necessary documents for Testamentary Trusts; appointment of Guardian and filing the necessary documents and reports for guardianships.
- Preparing petitions, letters of administration, affidavits, and related documents
- Tracking deadlines and coordinating with courts, clients, and internal teams
- Working with next-of-kin, executors, and personal representatives to gather required information
- Assisting in the creation of probate packets and supporting settlement processing
- Maintaining detailed case records using legal CRM and document management systems
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred/Required Qualifications of Our Probate Paralegal
- Associate’s degree and/or Paralegal Certification
- 2–5+ years of probate or estate administration experience required
- Strong understanding of litigation & mass tort terms.
- Case management skills, including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to manage and meet competing deadlines and priorities.
- Superior organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills; must be able to maintain a high case volume.
