Job Description

Lane Powell has nearly 150 years of experience serving as a strategic business advisor and legal counsel to premier public and private companies. Our lawyers work with a venerable list of clients in the Pacific Northwest and around the globe — from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and startups.

We invest in our attorneys and provide the resources and environment to enable our colleagues to build and grow their practices. As proof of our dedication to the successful personal and professional lives of our attorneys, we offer a lower billable hour standard than many of our peer firms. This allows time for our attorneys to focus on building a sustainable practice while supporting their well-being. Our inclusive and high-functioning practice team structure allows for shared accountability while encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation.

Our attorneys tailor advice and representation to our clients in multiple industries, including technology, retail, manufacturing, education, financial services, hospitality, environmental, transportation, and professional and engineering services. Our attorneys keep current on developing state and local laws and regulations. We seek candidates who have a willingness to take ownership for projects and cases, who are team oriented, collaborative, and enjoy public speaking.

Our firm culture is based on mutual respect both within our firm and in the communities in which we reside. We are committed to building and maintaining a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive workplace for colleagues from diverse backgrounds. We are a signatory of the American Bar Association Well-Being Pledge and have implemented new initiatives focused on wellness in the workplace. We have a consistently strong record of giving back to our communities through philanthropy and pro bono efforts. And we’ve intentionally embraced a flexible work environment and invested in state-of-the-art technology that enables our attorneys to thrive and be successful wherever they are working.

Lane Powell’s Private Client Services team counsels clients on the full range of estate and gift planning, estate administration, family business governance and transition planning, family office services and dispute resolution matters. We are proud to have received the Diversity Lab's Mansfield Rule 4.0, 5.0, and 6.0 Certification Plus, which recognizes our efforts to increase the representation of diverse lawyers in leadership positions through various initiatives, including considering a diverse pool of candidates for attorney positions. To meet the requirements of the program, we voluntarily gather data on race/ethnicity, veteran status, and LGBTQ+ status for Mansfield Rule reporting purposes. However, providing this information is entirely voluntary and will not affect your candidacy. The Mansfield Rule requires that at least 30% of attorneys considered for leadership roles, promotions, client pitches, and senior lateral positions are from underrepresented groups, including attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, women lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities. The "Mansfield Plus" certification demonstrates that we also ensured that 30% of the lawyers staffed on matters resulting from formal pitch meetings were from historically underrepresented groups, in addition to meeting the requirement that these groups make up 30% of firm leadership roles.
