Position Overview


The Legal Analyst is responsible for handling all aspects of corporate and vendor contracts related to data, systems and corporate matters together with responsibilities in the areas of corporate governance and entity management. Areas of responsibility include: (i) contract review, drafting, negotiation, and administration to provide for contract onboarding or renewal in accordance with company policy and guidelines; and (ii) providing legal and regulatory support on Corporate and Securities matters including Advisers Act, Investment Company Act, ’33 Act, ’34 Act, ERISA, privacy laws and ESG regulations.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization as the primary contact on assigned corporate and vendor contracts and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
  • Develop a comprehensive vendor management program
  • Take an active role in educating, training, and mentoring personnel on legal related matters
  • Design, implement and maintain new technological solutions and desk procedures to provide effective and efficient legal services
  • Participate in the development of corporate policies, procedures, and programs for the Firm and its UK subsidiary
  • Review, interpret, recommend, draft, and negotiate contractual terms and conditions under supervision and within guidelines
  • Comply with established policies, procedures, and standard practices to develop proactive plans to ensure contract activities achieve desired objectives and timetables
  • Review and comment on drafts and negotiate terms and conditions of non-disclosure, license, and memorandum of understanding agreements
  • Identify contract issues and respond to a variety of inquiries while providing leadership in developing innovative solutions
  • Advise management of contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of terms and conditions
  • Support one or more business units in the management of contracts including coordination of meetings and management of onboarding process
  • Create reporting for management and departments to align with business needs related to vendor oversight
  • Institute and manage contract-related budgeting processes and seek viable, cost-effective alternatives for vendor services
  • Become an expert over time on certain areas as it relates to systems, data, and topical vendor issues
  • Maintain, analyze, update, and develop various electronic and database records
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required


Skills and Knowledge Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of professional work experience in financial services or related field
  • Experience in negotiating contracts including vendor contracts
  • Must have experience with handling/processing large volumes of data with excellent attention to detail, organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and collaborative skills
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, SharePoint, data management and reporting software
  • Communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals of all levels
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Self-motivated and proactive


Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Strong knowledge/understanding of language and provisions in legal contracts
  • Familiarity or experience with ContractWorks, DocuSign, or similar applications, a plus
  • Familiarity or experience with Process-Unity, a plus
  • Familiarity with Canadian, UK, EU and /or Australian investment regulations
  • Basic understanding of ESG rules and regulations in the EU and/or UK


This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles, CA which requires weekly attendance.
