Job Description

Harrison LLP is a national law firm specializing in private wealth planning. The Firm’s services extend to the natural interplay between estate planning, business succession, matrimonial law, and related affinity practices. Founded in 2003, Harrison LLP focuses on providing sophisticated legal advice, exceptional client service, and innovative solutions.

The Firm’s Chicago office is seeking a highly organized, discreet, and proactive Executive Assistant. This position is based full-time in the Firm’s Chicago office and plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the attorneys’ practices. The ideal candidate is a reliable professional who thrives in a fast-paced professional services, client centered environment and demonstrates strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with estate planning concepts is a plus.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide executive-level administrative support to attorneys, as assigned.
  • Manage complex calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate internal and external meetings.
  • Draft, proofread, and manage correspondence, reports, and legal documents with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Coordinate domestic travel arrangements, meeting logistics, and occasional event planning.
  • Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, staff, and external contacts.
  • Maintain and organize confidential files—both physical and digital—including legal documents, estate plans, and personal materials.
  • Track tasks and deadlines; proactively follow up on outstanding items and ensure timely completion.
  • Assist with time entry and billing processes; liaise with accounting or administrative teams as needed.
  • Occasionally support personal or family-related scheduling and administrative needs.

What You Will Need:
  • 4-5+ years of experience supporting senior executives or attorneys, preferably in a law firm, legal department, or other professional services firm.
  • Must be available to work in-office five days per week at the firm’s Chicago office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities; able to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legal practice tools (e.g., document management systems, billing/time entry platforms).
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Familiarity with estate planning documents and terminology.
  • Prior experience in/exposure to estate planning, private client, or high-net-worth legal practice areas.
  • Experience interacting with clients and professionals in sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Calm under pressure and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Team-oriented with a positive and adaptable mindset.
Target Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000 annually. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors including but not limited to experience and training, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This role will also be eligible for an annual discretionary variable incentive bonus.

Benefits: Harrison LLP offers a comprehensive benefits package including personal time off, Firm paid holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
