Description

Job Purpose:
- The Litigation Legal Assistant at Family Hospital Management Company LLC will provide essential support to our legal team by managing and organizing litigation documents, assisting with case preparation, and ensuring efficient communication between attorneys, clients, and court officials. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of legal proceedings and upholding the integrity of our legal processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances for attorneys.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials to facilitate case progress.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines.
- Provide administrative support such as drafting correspondence, managing calendars, and handling phone calls.
- Assist in the preparation of trial materials and exhibits.
- Monitor and track case deadlines to ensure timely submission of all legal documents.
- Support attorneys in the billing and timekeeping process to ensure accurate client billing.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or higher in legal studies or a related field is preferred.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a legal assistant, preferably in a litigation environment.
- Proven track record of handling legal documentation, filing, and correspondence efficiently.
- Experience in managing attorney calendars, scheduling court dates, and coordinating meetings.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and databases.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures, particularly in litigation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software applications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review.
