Job Title: Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This role requires a dedicated attorney with strong litigation experience and a passion for medical malpractice defense. As part of our team, you will represent healthcare providers and plaintiffs in complex medical malpractice claims. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney to grow their career in an established and dynamic law firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in medical malpractice litigation, including preparing pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of complex legal issues related to medical malpractice.
  • Draft legal documents and prepare case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Handle depositions, hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently while adhering to timelines and court deadlines.
  • Provide legal advice and risk management counseling to healthcare clients.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses, legal assistants, and paralegals throughout case development.
  • Stay informed on changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting medical malpractice cases.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar license in the state of Michigan.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice or healthcare law.
  • Experience in Dental Malpractice is a big plus
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience representing healthcare providers in medical malpractice or related litigation.
  • Familiarity with Michigan medical malpractice laws and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations.
