A full-time, non-merit vacancy, with full County benefits exists in the Circuit Court of Baltimore County.
Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.

The Counsel serves under the general direction of the Administrative Judge. This position assists the Family Magistrates and Juvenile Magistrates.
Essential Job Duties
Conducts legal research, draft legal memoranda, review and summarize case files.
Assist with hearing preparation, drafting opinions and orders and frequent interaction with parties, attorneys, and other courthouse personnel.
Assist with Special Juvenile Immigrant Status proceedings and tax sale proceedings.
Examples of Other Duties
Performs other assigned duties or tasks as required.
- Qualifications
Must have a J.D. from an accredited law school.
Preferred Qualifications
Bar admission is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of modern legal research techniques and principles.
Superior legal writing skills to draft and edit documents.
Problem-solving abilities to quickly supply answers to time sensitive problems and questions, and evaluate various situations.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work effectively as a team player in a professional office, or ad hoc team/committee.
Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
Skill in effective listening and interpersonal relations; exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, diplomacy, and competence in dealing with judges, magistrates, public officials, the public and professional personnel.
Knowledge of legal procedures pertaining to the department;
