
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with over 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices, is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant to support the Immigration team in our Labor & Employment Practice Group. This position will report to the Manager of Legal Practice Support. The Immigration Legal Practice Assistant will routinely engage with practice group attorneys and business professionals to gain significant analytical and legal skills. The position will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support to the Immigration team in an environment where collaboration and exceptional client service is emphasized.

Morgan Lewis recognizes the benefits of supporting flexible working arrangements. This position will reside in the Washington, D.C. office, with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility with overtime is required. A two-to-three-year commitment is expected, and the candidates must start no later than June 30, 2025.
Key responsibilities of this position:
Assist with special projects for the Firm’s Immigration practice under the supervision of Immigration Operations Manager-US.
Assist Sr. Manager, Legal Practice Support – Immigration and Immigration Operations Manager-US with power point presentations for clients and training materials for Immigration Team.
Enter and maintain data in the Immigration department’s case management systems.
Assist Immigration Team members with preparation and analysis of status reports for clients.
Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases or documents required to finalize their cases.
Organize and maintain immigration files.
Assist Immigration department leadership, attorneys, case managers, and immigration paralegals with preparation and/or filing of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions with government agencies.
Assist Immigration department leadership, attorneys, case managers, and immigration paralegals with preparation and/or filing of responses to requests for additional evidence received from USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services).
Attend firm/team group meetings and events.
Attend continuing education programs/seminars.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required;
One (1) year of internship or professional experience preferred; immigration experience a plus.
Independent, self-starting, and self-motivated.
Superior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a must.
Exceptional organization skills.
Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint.
Experience with LawLogix and/or INSZoom case management systems a plus.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

For positions in Washington DC., the salary range for this job posting is: $53,200.00 - $85,150.00.
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
