
Senior Complex Litigation Paralegal
Location: Portland, OR (preferred) or Vancouver, WA | Hybrid potential
We are seeking a Senior Complex Litigation Paralegal to support our growing Business Litigation Practice and play a key role in expanding our firm’s capabilities. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced litigation paralegal to lead case management efforts, coordinate a legal support team, and ensure exceptional litigation support in high-stakes, fast-paced cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management & Strategy: Oversee and manage all aspects of complex commercial litigation cases, including pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, and case deadlines.
- Team Leadership: Direct and delegate tasks to legal support staff, ensuring high-quality work product and efficiency. Mentor and train junior paralegals and legal assistants.
- Litigation Support: Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Discovery & Document Management: Oversee large-scale document reviews, e-discovery processes, and production of legal documents.
- Court Filings & Compliance: Prepare and file pleadings and motions in Oregon state and federal courts (Washington experience preferred but not required). Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Client & Witness Coordination: Serve as the key point of contact for clients, expert witnesses, and third parties throughout the litigation process.
- Deadline & Pressure Management: Thrive under tight deadlines, efficiently managing multiple cases and ensuring timely completion of all legal tasks.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in complex litigation as a senior or lead paralegal in a law firm setting.
- Extensive experience in Oregon litigation (Washington experience is a plus).
- Proven ability to manage and mentor legal support teams.
- Expertise in case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation in high-stakes litigation.
- Strong knowledge of court rules, procedures, and e-filing systems.
- Experience with legal technology and case management software (Relativity, CaseMap, Westlaw, etc.).
- Exceptional ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing case priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent experience preferred.
