Job Description

Calibrate has been retained by a respected Miami-based boutique law firm with a nationwide practice, to identify its first Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will elevate the firm’s operational infrastructure and enable strategic growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a decisive, growth-oriented leadership team ready to empower a business professional to drive the next chapter of the firm’s success.

The COO will partner directly with the firm’s founders to lead internal operations, unify support functions, and implement sustainable systems that enable attorneys to focus on exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Through Influence and Partnership: Foster alignment across attorneys and staff by building trust, listening first, and guiding improvements without imposing hierarchy.

Strengthen Operational Infrastructure: Showcase an acumen with integration and operation of technology to drive efficiency and scalability. Balance day-to-day execution with long-term planning to support a growing and high-performing environment.

Advance Financial Discipline and Insight: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting with clarity and rigor, equipping firm leadership with data to make informed strategic decisions. Elevate financial operations to match the firm’s growth trajectory.

Preserve Culture While Enabling Growth: Protect the firm's collaborative, respectful culture while introducing scalable systems that support future expansion.

Requirements:

  • Proven financial and operational leadership experience within a professional services setting; legal industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success building or scaling operational systems in boutique or other entrepreneurial settings to integrate and operate technology platforms and tools supporting firmwide efficiency.
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Culturally attuned and emotionally intelligent with a collaborative leadership style.
