- Job Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision of the Procurement Legal Services Manager works within the Office of Procurement and Contracting Services to draft contracts and provides legal analysis services related to procurement and contracts; may act as a liaison to the DPH Office of General Counsel.
- Draft, review, and analyze a broad range of contract actions including New Contracts, Amendments, Statements of Work, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Service Agreements, and standardized letters and notices across a wide array of sourcing categories and transaction types in both technology and non-technology by utilizing expert working knowledge of legal principles and terms.
- Work closely with DPH’s Office of General Counsel to ensure adherence to agency policies, procedures, and processes
- Collaborate with programs, procurement team, internal and external partners for successful completion of assigned contracts
- Meet departmental deadlines for contracts processing and completion
- Track and respond to Open Records inquiries pertaining to Procurement & Contracting services within the statutory timelines.
- Performs legal research and compiles data from references, digests, and law libraries
- Provides review and analysis of the implications of laws, policy statements, and regulations
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and completion of 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours in criminal justice or a related field and six (6) years of experience in the related area; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Legal Analysis Spec 2 (LEP041) or position equivalent.
Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.- Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, public administration or related area from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience in area of assignment.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Georgia Law as it pertains to the State Purchasing Act, O.C.G.A., Sections §50-5-50 through Section §50-5-81
- Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
- Experience performing legal research and ability to find relevant legal statutes within the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.).
