As a Senior Director on the Legal team, you’ll support the head of legal while identifying business strategies.

What you will do:
- Provide strong leadership to a team of four (4) direct reports by setting clear goals, expectations, and priorities. Motivate team members to achieve their full potential and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Identify opportunities and training needs and implement effective solutions to enhance team efficiency, skills and knowledge. Provide coaching and mentorship to team members to help them grow and develop in their roles.
- Facilitate open and transparent communication within the team and across departments. Keep team members informed of important updates, changes, and initiatives, and encourage feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Be a trusted partner to the Senior Vice President, Head of Legal in supporting the legal team.
- Ownership of the contract management and risk teams, legal compliance and other functions to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations to support the organization.
- Lead in the negotiations and preparation of various agreements, such as general contractor agreements, service agreements, technology licensing agreements, access agreements and commercial and office leases.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Help shape business strategy, identifying business risks and defining company policies and procedures.
- Build and identify new processes founded on fanatical discipline to deliver each time we make a promise. Whether it is to our team, our residents, our vendors, or our investors.
What you should have:
- Strong transactional legal experience (5+ years) either in a law firm or in-house position. Prior leadership experience required. Experience building a team a plus.
- The ability to connect with others to keep the team aligned and focused.
- An analytical ability to collect and use information to solve complex problems.
- The technical experience to be able to lead teams, internal and external, and earn their trust and respect for your competence.
- The legal and business acumen to negotiate a complex corporate, transactional and regulatory environment.
- A J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to practice in New York.
- Fanatical discipline and relentless desire to do what needs to be done.
- A love for doing what others won’t and solving very difficult problems.
- A desire to grow and take on ever increasing responsibility.
- Doing any, or all of that, in a multi-family environment would be good too.

Base Salary: $200,000 – $225,000.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience & location.
