- Description
The HR Generalist serves as a vital member of the Human Resources team for the Office of the Attorney General. The HR Generalist manages the recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, personnel records, compensation, benefits, offboarding, and training for all members of the agency.
- Examples of Duties
The Human Resources Generalist will assist with the management of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department and will serve as the Human Resources Deputy Director’s backup for higher level functions, such as disciplinary actions and other employee relation issues.
Responsibilities Include:
•Lead over Intensive Deputy Attorney General (IDAG) program
•Recruiting and sourcing
•Applicant tracking system administration
•Performance management administration
•Employee orientation
•Employee engagement initiatives
•Employee communications
•Track community service for OAG employees
•Compensation and benefits administration
•Develop clear policies and procedures as needed
•Assists with training initiatives: program/curriculum development materials and logistics
•Apply, secure, manage and report continuing legal education credits for attorneys
•Develop and administer program evaluations in adherence with CLE requirements
•Coordinates tuition reimbursements
•Sign-off on Public Service Loan Forgiveness request
•Completes special projects
•Other duties as assigned- Typical Skills and Qualifications
•0-3 years of related human resources experience
•General knowledge of employment laws and practices
•Experience administering disciplinary actions
•Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
•Effective oral and written communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
•Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
•Experience in recruiting preferred
•Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred but not required
