The Opportunity
As a Law & Motion Attorney in our Wage & Hour Class Action department, you’ll play a critical role in advancing cases that impact workers across California. You will craft persuasive motions that shape case law and support class-wide resolutions, all while working closely with a seasoned litigation team on high-stakes wage and hour claims. If you have one or more years of experience and an interest in Wage & Hour, PAGA, and Class Action work, we want to hear from you.
This position can be fully remote or based in one of our seven offices.
Responsibilities
- Draft and oppose a wide range of motions, including motions for class certification, summary judgment, and discovery-related matters.
- Collaborate with trial attorneys to develop and support legal strategies for class action and PAGA cases.
- Conduct high-level legal research on complex and emerging labor law issues.
- Argue motions and oppositions in court.
- Analyze deposition transcripts, expert reports, and key records to inform motion work.
- Participate in meet-and-confers and liaise with opposing counsel regarding motion issues.
- Stay current on developments in labor and employment law impacting wage & hour litigation.
Qualifications
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- Demonstrated excellence in legal writing, research, and analysis.
- Ability to distill key facts from discovery and apply them to complex legal frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Experience drafting or opposing dispositive and class certification motions, preferred, not required
- Knowledge of the California Labor Code, Code of Civil Procedure, and relevant federal wage laws is preferred, not required
Compensation
- Compensation range based on experience: $130,000 - $275,000 plus performance-based incentives
