Fennemore has an excellent opportunity in our Sacramento, California office for a full-time ESTATE PLANNING PARALEGAL to join our growing firm. The role supports attorneys in estate administration, probate and trust administration, estate planning, and some corporate governance tasks. Key responsibilities include document preparation, filings, research, and administrative support, allowing attorneys to concentrate on client relations. The ideal candidate will excel in delivering comprehensive legal support, maintaining strong client interactions, and being exceptionally organized. This position is predominately onsite, with limited remote work after a period of training. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of estate administration, including preparing and recording deeds, obtaining necessary documentation, and ensuring timely filing; 
  • Prepare and file/e-file probate and trust administration documents, including petitions and court orders;
  • Prepare detailed accounting reports and assist with maintaining accurate records for trust and estate matters;
  • Assist in the preparation of estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives;
  • Complete ancillary paperwork and manage document signings and notarizations;
  • Provide support with corporate governance tasks as needed, including the preparation and maintenance of corporate records, resolutions, and other governance documents, and
  • Offer general administrative support to attorneys, including legal research, document management, and coordinating client communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a trusts and estates paralegal;
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate preferred;
  • Previous law firm experience and/or in-house paralegal experience;
  • Superior organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several projects to completion on a deadline;
  • Conscientious, thoughtful, and proactive approach to tasks and workload management, including the ability to establish priorities, work independently, and take initiative when appropriate;
  • Proficiency in the common collection of Microsoft Office applications; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with all levels within the firm and externally with clients and other professional advisors, as needed.
