Job Description

Gunderson Dettmer’s Atlanta office has an opening for a creative and forward-thinking Legal Technology Intern to support our firm’s efforts to responsibly and effectively leverage artificial intelligence tools. This role offers hands‑on exposure to how a corporate law firm applies AI to routine tasks such as document drafting, research, knowledge management, and workflow optimization—while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professional standards. The intern will work closely with attorneys and business professionals to identify opportunities where AI tools can streamline processes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our firm's innovation initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Assist with identifying routine legal and operational tasks that may benefit from AI‑enabled efficiency.

  • Help test and evaluate AI tools.

  • Support attorneys and business professionals in using AI tools effectively by documenting tips, use cases, and limitations.

  • Help create internal guides, quick references, and training materials related to AI‑assisted work.

  • Gather feedback from users and help track outcomes of AI efficiency initiatives.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and proposals to communicate innovation concepts and progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Innovation Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in artificial intelligence, legal technology, process improvement and a genuine interest in exploring new ideas and technologies.

  • Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information and draw insights.

  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and propose innovative solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.

  • Experience using generative AI tools for writing, summarization, or research.

  • Interest in legal operations, knowledge management, or workflow optimization.

  • Coursework or projects related to AI, automation, or innovation.

Status

  • 30 hours per week

  • Onsite Monday - Thursday

The internship pays $30 per hour.
