Minimum qualifications:
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience working on discovery and litigation matters, particularly on responding to subpoena requests and handling discovery motions, productions, and depositions.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience responding to subpoena requests with a focus on discovery, including developing response strategy, conducting investigations into relevant data sources, and managing the collection, review, and production of data.
- Experience with technology related consulting services or commercial technology transactions.
- Understanding of FRCP rule 45 and the legal framework for responding to third-party subpoena requests.
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail and an action-oriented mindset, with the ability to meet important deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues, and developing solutions; excellent business judgment and strategic thinking.

As a Commercial and Litigation Support Counsel for the U.S. Cloud Commercial Legal team, you'll play an integral role in supporting Google Cloud's Mandiant Consulting cybersecurity business and outside counsel on litigation and investigations. You'll lead on responding to subpoena requests with a focus on discovery, including developing response strategy, conducting investigations into relevant data sources, and managing the collection, review, and production of data. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, senior business leadership, external counsel, and affected customers, to manage the most effective discovery strategies in support of Mandiant Consulting and its customers. In this role, you'll be trusted to lead complex and often sensitive cross-functional strategic initiatives, support Mandiant's cyber risk partner program, and assist on Mandiant cybersecurity and incident response engagements. You will be relied on as a thought partner and problem solver, aligning legal, business and market requirements to drive successful outcomes.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $195,000-$293,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Be responsible for Mandiant Consulting’s civil litigation and third-party subpoena request support needs, including responding to administrative subpoenas and civil investigative demands, overseeing discovery motions, productions, and depositions.
- Advise on and support Consulting commercial transactions and incident response engagements as needed.
- Work with Mandiant Consulting leadership, Google’s Discovery/Litigation team and outside counsel, and interface with affected customers, to determine appropriate scope of response and to develop and implement Mandiant specific discovery strategies.
- Support Google regulatory affairs and other cross-functional (e.g., employment) legal teams in responding to investigative demands.
- Implement litigation hold requests and support document collection, and coordinate with non-legal team members to identify relevant witnesses, custodians, and data sources.
