Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior HR Generalist serves as a strategic partner and resource for leadership and employees across a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compliance, training, and onboarding. This role is responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle while driving initiatives that foster a positive and compliant workplace culture. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented professional with a strong generalist background, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex HR situations with discretion and professionalism. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Employee Relations & Compliance 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees regarding HR policies, employee relations, and workplace matters. 
  • Conduct internal investigations, resolve employee concerns, and recommend appropriate action in alignment with company policies and legal guidelines. 
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including recordkeeping, wage and hour, and safety requirements. 
  • Partner with leadership to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture. 

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding 

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for both exempt and non-exempt roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. 
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies that align with workforce planning and organizational goals. 
  • Facilitate a seamless onboarding process, ensuring timely completion of offer letters, background checks, I-9s, and orientation activities. 

Performance & Training 

  • Support the performance management process by coaching managers on setting goals, delivering feedback, and managing performance concerns. 
  • Identify training needs and assist with the delivery or coordination of professional development initiatives. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve processes and support employee growth. 

HR Operations & Systems 

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, supporting reporting, audits, and compliance tracking. 
  • Participate in the review and development of HR policies and procedures to reflect organizational needs and compliance standards. 
  • Assist with annual processes such as open enrollment, performance reviews, and compensation planning. 

Cross-Functional Support 

  • Collaborate with payroll, operations, and other departments to support company initiatives and resolve issues. 
  • Provide backup support for other HR functions as needed and participate in special projects that drive HR and business objectives. 

KEY SKILLS:  

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance. 
  • Skilled in handling sensitive issues, conflict resolution, investigations, and coaching managers through employee matters. 
  • Experienced in full-cycle recruiting with ability to align talent strategies to business needs and support workforce planning. 
  • Acts as a trusted advisor and coach to managers, enhancing team development and performance. 
  • Identifies and implements HR process enhancements that improve efficiency and employee experience. 
  • Supports onboarding and employee learning initiatives to foster engagement and growth. 
  • Strong communicator who builds trust, fosters inclusivity, and promotes teamwork. 
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities and leading HR initiatives to completion. 
  • Maintains professionalism, exercises sound judgment, and upholds confidentiality at all times. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, recruitment, and compliance. 
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, HRIS/ATS platforms. 
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions. 
  • Must be willing to travel as needed. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting. 
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.  
  • Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
