
Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., a multi-office national defense firm, has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Legal Assistant to support a Partner in our Fort Lauderdale office focused on Workers’ Compensation litigation. This is an in-office position with the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and looking to work closely with a highly experienced attorney in a specialized and fast-paced practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, including letters, pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents
File documents in Florida courts via E-Filing Portal
Schedule depositions, hearings, IMEs, and manage attorney calendar
Maintain and organize case files (physical and digital)
Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of pleadings and discovery
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and vendors professionally
Assist with medical records requests, subpoenas, and preparing materials for hearings
Perform general administrative duties and overflow tasks as needed
Qualifications:
2+ years of legal assistant experience; prior Workers’ Compensation experience preferred but not required
Familiarity with Florida court filing systems and procedures
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines
Must be comfortable working on-site in our Fort Lauderdale office
High School Diploma or equivalent required

Working Conditions:
This role is based in an indoor office setting with standard office equipment and may require occasional lifting of files or boxes up to 20 lbs. The role is primarily sedentary but requires regular interaction with office staff and case materials.
