Job Description:
The Legal Practice Specialist performs a variety of administrative support tasks for the assigned attorneys within the designated Practice Group. This position may perform additional duties and responsibilities relating to the assigned Practice Group. The Legal Practice Specialist works under general supervision and relies on instruction and guidelines to perform the essential functions of the job.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, edit and proofread documents including correspondence, agreements, spreadsheets and presentations
- Set up, organize and maintain paper and electronic filing systems with client documents
- Enter attorneys’ time entries and prepare and maintain monthly client billing and vendor invoices
- Prepare and maintain expense reports
- Coordinate and schedule client meetings
- Arrange, schedule and book attorney travel
- Prepare engagement letters, conduct detailed client intake and analyze potential conflicts for new clients/matters and the opening of same
- Maintain attorney client lists, contacts and calendars
- Monitor attorney Outlook inbox and calendar and remind attorney of responses needed and upcoming calendar events
- Proactively remind attorneys of impending deadlines and obligations, including posting CLE credits and meeting deadlines

- Ability to maintain and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and diplomacy
