Job Description
- Serve as primary handling attorney on civil litigation defense cases
- Manage all stages of litigation including discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and pre-trial preparation
- Collaborate with partners and clients to strategize on case development and resolution
- Prepare legal documents including motions and correspondence
- Participate in occasional trial preparation and proceedings
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates
- Utilize a legal assistant for administrative support
Qualifications
- Must be licensed to practice law in California
- At least 4 year of civil litigation experience (plaintiff or defense side)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with court rules, calendaring, and civil procedure in state and federal courts
- Ability to manage caseload independently and meet billable hour requirements
