How you will make an impact
The Executive Director, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Supply Transactions Counsel position is primarily responsible for providing strategic legal advice and transactional support for Halozyme’s multiple drug delivery technologies and products by working closely with the Company’s supply and manufacturing operations and CDMOs. This individual will be the transactional team lead for and collaborate closely with the business on development, manufacturing, and supply chain matters for the Company’s drug delivery technologies and products. This position will work closely with regulatory, quality and engineering teams to evaluate, negotiate, and administer new agreements for supporting the clinical and commercial manufacturing of pharmaceutical products for different drug delivery technologies. This position will also provide legal support for other Halozyme business operations including the potential evaluation and acquisition of new drug delivery technologies.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Support and, as appropriate, lead strategy and negotiation of new pharmaceutical product manufacturing and supply collaborations
Draft non-disclosure, development, manufacturing, service, supply, CDMO and other agreements
Perform diligence and support in a variety of potential life science business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions or in-licenses of new drug delivery technologies
Work with and advise management and business teams on complex manufacturing and supply chain relationships and associated legal issues
Work closely with business development, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, quality and engineering teams at Halozyme that oversee various aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply
Support the Vice President, Associate General Counsel in the execution of other strategies and tactics required to achieve Halozyme business goals, as needed
Develop and deliver training for business teams on relevant legal topics, including risk mitigation and legal issues central to manufacturing and supply
Other duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
J.D. degree or LL.M. degree from an ABA accredited law school, and admission to practice law in a jurisdiction in the U.S.
8+ years’ experience of law firm and/or in-house experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
Demonstrated strategic transactions leadership experience; experience negotiating and drafting complex manufacturing and supply agreements, including CDMO agreements
Life sciences intellectual property law experience preferred
Excellent analytical and contract drafting skills
Strong written and oral communication, as well as requisite interpersonal skills to work in a highly functioning, collaborative environment
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic solutions
Strong leadership potential as aligned with the Halozyme Values and Operating Principles
Environmental conditions:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, be at a desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer the telephone and type on a computer. Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Travel:

The most likely base pay range for this position is $256,000 to $358,000 per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual’s exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
