Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP is seeking an experienced Transactional and Estate Planning Attorney to join our team. We are a well-established firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.

About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, including individuals, families, and closely held businesses, on complex business, real estate, and estate planning matters. The successful candidate will provide sophisticated legal advice, craft tailored solutions, and serve as a trusted advisor in all aspects of transactional and estate planning law.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on business and real estate transactions, including entity formation and governance.
• Draft and negotiate contracts, purchase and sale agreements, leases, and related documents.
• Design and implement estate and tax planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and related instruments.
• Counsel clients on business succession and charitable giving strategies.
• Provide ongoing guidance on corporate, partnership, and individual tax issues.
• Direct and collaborate with paralegals and associates to ensure efficient case management.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Oregon State Bar required (Washington admission a plus).
• Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in business and estate planning law.
• Proven expertise in drafting, negotiation, and client counseling.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client matters with independence and professionalism.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to client service excellence.
