Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Paralegal to support our legal team in the Tampa, Florida area. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, case management, and client communication. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Draft and proofread legal documents.
  • Organize records and maintain document databases.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal clients and external legal professionals.
  • Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with legal procedures and ethical guidelines.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Provide other project and administrative support as needed.

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with comprehensive knowledge of correct grammar, punctuation, spelling.
  • Understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal documentation.
  • Strong proofreading and document review skills to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to track deadlines and maintain well-organized files.
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analyze case law and regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong discretion in handling sensitive client and case information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and legal professionals.
  • Critical thinking and initiative in handling case-related challenges and procedural requirements.
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field (preferred).
  • A Paralegal Certificate from an approved program is highly desirable.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency.
  • Experience in corporate law, or contract law is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Predominantly Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office or home office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
  • Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
