Position: Part-Time Legal Counsel (W-2 Employee or Consultant)Overview
The Part-Time Legal Counsel will provide ongoing legal support to Med-Care Providers, primarily focused on reviewing contracts, business agreements, compliance documentation, and healthcare-related policies. This position is ideal for an attorney experienced in healthcare or corporate law who is seeking a flexible schedule and meaningful work supporting a mission-driven healthcare organization.
- Review and provide legal guidance on business contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership documents.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and applicable Medicare/Medicaid requirements
- Advise management on legal risks, business strategies, and policy development.
- Draft or revise organizational policies, consent forms, and employee-related documents as needed.
- Provide input on regulatory updates that may impact business operations.
- Collaborate with leadership to maintain best practices in risk management and governance.
- Conduct periodic (monthly or as-needed) reviews of documentation and provide written summaries or recommendations.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Nevada or “in good standing with any U.S. jurisdiction including Nevada”
- Minimum of 1 - 5 years of legal experience, preferably in healthcare law, regulatory compliance, or corporate contracts.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid regulations and Business Law, and general healthcare compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and provide timely, practical legal advice.

- Spanish Speaker its a plus
