Job Description

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz, PC has an opening for a highly skilled Legal Support Coordinator in its Atlanta, GA office.  Candidates must have 5+ years of large firm experience; exceptional attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills; and the ability to work effectively within a group or independently.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated, can switch quickly between tasks, is a creative problem-solver, and an excellent multi-tasker.  Candidates must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel and type a minimum of 65 words per minute with high accuracy.  This position will support more than one attorney. The candidate must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.  Litigation experience strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prioritizing and executing tasks quickly and accurately
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of client and other files in the electronic filing system and hard copy files as needed
  • Time entry, processing client bills, conducting client conflict checks, transcribing dictation
  • Maintain calendars with litigation dates, deadlines, meetings, conferences, arbitrations, and other necessary dates
  • Reviewing vendor invoices and requesting checks for payment in a timely manner
  • Book all travel including airfare, hotels, and reservations; submit and track expense reports and ensure reimbursements are received
  • Assisting attorneys and paralegals in preparation for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials
  • Oversee all email correspondence, prioritizing and often responding on behalf of the attorney
  • Formatting and setting up documents including pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Prepare shell documents for attorneys in preparation of discovery, orders, motions, and trial documents
  • Filing litigation documents with state and federal courts – knowledge of electronic filing is required
