GardaWorld has an exciting opportunity to join its Legal Department. We are looking for a talented Employment Litigation Paralegal to manage projects and coordinate litigation matters. This role will work closely with members of the Employment Litigation Team on employment law, pre-litigation, litigation, and administrative matters, as well as internal employment projects. The ideal candidate will exhibit the ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality, organization, attention to detail, initiative, autonomy, and judgment, as well as an ability to effectively prioritize workflow and execute assignments. This is a dynamic role that requires responsiveness and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
This position will provide range of paralegal support, including the below tasks and responsibilities:
- Assist counsel with a broad scope of employment law matters including internal projects involving reviewing, drafting, updating, finalizing, and maintenance of policies, procedures, handbooks, and agreements;
- Work independently to oversee document management strategies for litigation matters;
- Provide litigation support, including service of process, managing legal case files, coordinating between internal and external partners, gathering evidence, and conducting in-house review of documents;
- Review subpoenas and record requests and gather relevant documents in response;
- Draft document preservation notices and communications;
- Maintain docket system tracking employment litigation and administrative matters;
- Support outside counsel engagement, including review of legal invoices;
- Manage vendor invoices and assist with budget development;
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 - 4+ years of paralegal experience supporting an employment law function in an in-house legal department or law firm;
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment litigation procedures;
- Ability to work independently, proactively, innovatively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment and taking ownership of projects;
- Ability to strategically build and shape management systems and processes for the Employment team;
- Ability and willingness to learn new tasks outside of areas of expertise;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe, document and matter management systems (such as WinTeam, OneDrive, Legal Tracker), DocuSign, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom;
- This role will work in-person at our St. Louis, Missouri office.
Compensation, Benefits, and Perks
This role is based in St. Louis, Missouri. Total compensation includes generous benefits:
- The salary is $65,000 - $75,000 / year is indicative of the projected hiring range and is determined based on a candidate’s skills and experience;
