Position Title: Accounting Specialist
Reports To: Accounting Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist supports the Accounting Department by conducting conflict searches, setting up new clients and assisting with day-to-day operations including A/R, A/P and billing.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process conflict searches and setup new client/matters in the accounting system.
- Save new client/matters into our document management system.
- Coding and online deposit of checks.
- Credit card processing.
- Respond to staff or client inquiries timely and accurately.
- Invoice and maintain staff and member personal expenses.
- Prepare and email monthly reports to attorneys/staff
- Contact client if past due accounts.
- Cross train in each accounting function for backup support.
Job Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a group setting in close proximity to peers.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills when interacting with staff, clients and within the department.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must have ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Working Hours:
Schedule is 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
