Job Description

Position Title:        Accounting Specialist
 
Reports To:           Accounting Manager
 
FLSA Status:         Non-Exempt
 
Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist supports the Accounting Department by conducting conflict searches, setting up new clients and assisting with day-to-day operations including A/R, A/P and billing.           
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Process conflict searches and setup new client/matters in the accounting system.
  2. Save new client/matters into our document management system.
  3. Coding and online deposit of checks.
  4. Credit card processing.
  5. Respond to staff or client inquiries timely and accurately.
  6. Invoice and maintain staff and member personal expenses.
  7. Prepare and email monthly reports to attorneys/staff
  8. Contact client if past due accounts.
  9. Cross train in each accounting function for backup support.
Job Qualifications:
  1. At least 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience is preferred.
  2. Ability to work in a group setting in close proximity to peers.
  3. Excellent customer service and communication skills when interacting with staff, clients and within the department.
  4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  5. Must have ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.
  6. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Working Hours:
Schedule is 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
