Summary
The Regional Business Attorney will support subsidiaries under America's Headquarters (AHQ) by managing the preparation, negotiation, execution, and oversight of contracts and subcontracts with government and non-government entities. This role also encompasses corporate governance, ensuring adequate insurance coverage, overseeing litigation, drafting policies, and handling other assigned legal tasks to safeguard compliance and mitigate risk.
Compensation
$142,500 - $162,000 Per Year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of contracts and subcontracts with governmental and non-governmental organizations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- Oversee the lifecycle of contracts, including tracking amendments, renewals, and ensuring adherence to terms and conditions
- Analyze business operations to identify legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Assess and ensure proper insurance coverage to protect the company’s assets and operations
- Provide legal advice and counsel to internal teams on various business operations, including strategic opportunities and compliance-related issues
- Oversee litigation processes, including coordinating with external counsel and advising on strategy for resolving disputes
- Collaborate with internal teams to draft, update, and maintain company policies in alignment with legal and operational requirements
- Develop and implement legal frameworks and processes to support compliance with local, state, provincial and federal laws across subsidiaries
- Partner with business units, subsidiaries, and external stakeholders to provide legal insights and ensure seamless alignment between business objectives and legal requirements
- Assist in overseeing employment-related litigation and provide guidance on compliance with labor laws and regulations
- Collaborate on special legal and business projects as assigned by senior leadership, including ad hoc reviews, audits, and cross-functional initiatives
- Assist in developing and delivering training programs to educate employees and management on key legal topics such as contract management, compliance, and corporate governance

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required

- Bi-Lingual: English & Korean Required

Education & Experience
- Masters Degree Required
- PhD Preferred
- 10-15 years of experience in Business law & Contract Management Required
- 13-18 years of experience in Corporate Governance, and Litigation Preferred
- Active license to practice law in California Required
- Certified In-House Counsel Preferred
