Job Summary:
The Legal Administrator is responsible for coordinating digital delivery and signing of contracts; maintaining legal files; monitoring Intellectual Property (trademarks, patents, copyright, etc.) and Intellectual Property infringement; interacting with business managers, executive management, Shimano (Japan), Shimano Team offices worldwide, customers, retailers and vendors; interacting with legal professionals; preparing professional business correspondence; and managing the Shimano Green Plan with Product Teams.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide support to in-house legal professional(s).
- Monitor Intellectual Property (trademarks, patents, copyright, etc.) and Intellectual Property infringement.
- Infringement: Watch for unauthorized sellers. Work with team to draft cease and desist notifications.
- Monitor and review sponsorship agreements. Work with Shimano team and athletes to ensure agreements have been reviewed and signed accordingly.
- Meet with managers to discuss agreement.
- Green Plan: work with factory to ensure Factory Agreement and declaration are signed.
- Compose professional business correspondence.
- Interact professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization, customers, retailers, vendors and legal professionals.
- Follow up on outstanding/past due Agreements (obtain proper signatures) in a professional, but consistent and persistent manner.
- Work with other departments to gain an understanding of the business function.
- Weekly reporting and meeting re: work product, daily matters and outstanding Agreements
Job Qualifications:
- Highly organized.
- Strong multi-tasker
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong proactive approach in completing tasks.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Confidentiality & discretion a must/required.
- Successfully manage and complete multiple tasks and projects.
- Software skills including but not limited to AdobeSign, Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Familiar with Document/Record Retention procedures.
- Consistent and persistent follow-up skills.
- Possible travel to Team Shimano offices.
Education:
High School Diploma or AA Degree.
