Job Description

Ready to dive into the fast-paced world of immigration law? Join the team of DMCA as legal assistant to Paul Hunker, former Chief Counsel for ICE Dallas and current immigration powerhouse. This is more than just a desk job - it's a front-row seat to some of the most compelling legal work in immigration law today. We're looking for a seasoned Immigration Legal Assistant who's ready to level up - someone who already knows their way around EOIR, USCIS, and the alphabet soup of immigration law but wants more: more responsibility, more strategy, and more meaningful wins.

If you've been in the game and want to work with one of the sharpest legal minds in immigration, this is your moment.

Why You'll Love It Here:

  • Mentorship that matters: Learn directly from a seasoned attorney with experience and deep insight into immigration enforcement and policy.

  • Team culture: We work hard but know how to keep it collaborative, curious, and caffeinated.

  • Growth-friendly: We're big on professional development.

  • Meaningful work: You're not just moving paper - you're helping people build better futures.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in preparing legal documents including briefs, motions, and filings for EOIR, USCIS, and federal court.

  • Manage complex cases and maintain deadlines with precision

  • Coordinate with clients to gather documents, provide updates, and schedule appointments

  • Research procedures related to immigration issues

  • Communicate with government agencies including USCIS, EOIR, ICE, and federal courts

  • Keep Paul organized - trust us, he's a great attorney but appreciates a strong right hand

What We're Looking For:

  • Passion for immigration law

  • Prior experience in a legal setting is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and problem-solving

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a high-energy environment

  • Spanish fluency required

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification a bonus

Perks & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary that reflects your experience and dedication

  • 100% employer-paid medical insurance, LTD and life insurance

  • 401K plan with employer 100% matching contributions
  • Dental and vision insurance available

  • Generous PTO, vacation days, and paid holidays to recharge and reset

  • Ongoing professional development, training, and one-on-one mentorship

  • Office snacks, spontaneous coffee runs, and a genuinely supportive team culture
