Job Description

The Litigation Support Clerk is responsible for the management of electronic and physical records, e-filing notices, maintaining accurate file inventories and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive legal and medical records. This role involves preparing subpoenas and other correspondence, communicating and coordinating with vendors and updating records in iManage. Additional duties include operating office equipment and assisting with miscellaneous projects. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality are essential for this position.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • E-Filing - Check for duplications, naming, printing and saving into document management system
  • Filing - Classify, date, sort, organize, retrieve, maintain, store and close
  • Subpoenas - Prepare letters, acceptances of service, envelopes and certified mailings
  • Process invoices in Chrome River
  • Time entry for timekeepers
  • Typing - create and update file inventory
  • Miscellaneous projects, etc.
  • Use of office equipment (computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, etc.)
  • Weekly coverage at the reception desk for serving as back-up for lunches, breaks and PTO as needed.  Assist with forwarding routine calls, leaving voicemail messages, greeting visitors, coordinating conference room schedules and other miscellaneous tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Team player
  • Ability to understand and use Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Docs Open, etc.) 
  • Creative problem solving
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Prior office/law firm experience (preferred)
