Job Description:
The Legal Assistant supports insurance reimbursement and recovery efforts by managing administrative and communication tasks across a portfolio of active cases. This role ensures that case documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date, allowing legal team members to focus on negotiation and settlement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage administrative tasks for active subrogation and insurance recovery cases
• Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound calls and emails regarding claims, liens, and documentation requests
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, insurance adjusters, claim representatives, and carriers
• Prepare, organize, and route case documentation to support legal team activities
• Send lien notices and updates, confirm receipt, and follow up on outstanding or missing information
• Monitor case progress and escalate potential issues related to coverage, liability, or timing
• Maintain accurate and detailed case notes and communication logs within internal systems
• Partner with senior team members to identify documentation gaps and ensure files are complete prior to settlement
• Track incoming reimbursement payments and escalate delays as needed
• Support responsiveness standards and ensure consistent communication with stakeholders
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience (4+ years)
• Experience in insurance claims, legal support, healthcare reimbursement, subrogation, TPL, workers’ compensation, or related fields preferred
• Familiarity working with insurance carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), or legal teams is a plus
