Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school.
- Ideally 7-15 years of experience practicing commercial/corporate/business law, both managing transactions and counseling clients.
License to practice law required; active member in good standing with the Washington bar preferred.
Exceptional drafting, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proven record of assuming and directing significant legal responsibilities in a fast–paced, highly collaborative team environment.
Good team player, with a focus on client service.
Self-starter with a sense of urgency, integrity, and fairness.
Legal knowledge of and experience with intellectual property, corporate governance, securities law, and/or Canadian business laws a plus.

This position is on the General Corporate legal team. We are a collaborative group of 7 attorneys, 2 paralegals, a workplace investigator, and a team admin. We work together to support the complete needs of the various businesses including new and emerging focus areas as these businesses grow and evolve. What We Offer:
Compensation\: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $157,600 - $235,414 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
This position is also eligible to receive $51,000 - $69,000 in restrictive stock units on an annual basis, as part of our Long Term Incentive Plan.

In this role, your primary responsibility will be working alongside our existing commercial and corporate attorneys to advise internal clients on business-related transactions at the Company, including managing large, complex projects.

It’s an exciting time to join a fun, fast-moving team who is responsible for providing legal advice, governance, and transactions support for a publicly traded company with over 20 million acres of North American timberlands and an industry-leading Wood Products manufacturing business. You will report directly to the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel and work primarily with a subset of our team responsible for providing guidance to Weyerhaeuser on all things related to our business divisions. We take our work (but not ourselves) seriously and strive to achieve excellence in everything we do. This position is located in downtown Seattle at Weyerhaeuser’s corporate headquarters and offers the benefit of working from home up to two days a week (Mondays and Fridays), subject to business needs.
Primary responsibilities include:
Provide legal support for Weyerhaeuser’s Wood Products business teams in all manner of commercial transactions, including M&A, procurement, sales and marketing, transportation, and other related transactions.
Provide legal support for Weyerhaeuser’s Strategic Land Solutions and Corporate Development business teams in various commercial transactions, including M&A, development projects, carbon projects, and other related transactions.
Provide legal support for Weyerhaeuser’s Corporate and Operations Procurement teams, including reviewing and negotiating agreements for SaaS and technology products, large equipment purchases, construction services, chemical additives, and other goods and services.
Support our corporate legal team on a variety of matters as they arise, including matters related to board governance, disclosure, finance, entity-level M&A and related activities.
Advise business leadership teams on issues that arise across a Wood Products business with operations throughout North America.
Develop and conduct legal training for the businesses we support.
Supervise, manage, and evaluate outside counsel on business-related matters.
Assist on other strategic projects at the company as needed.
