This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.

The Client Agreements  Manager oversees and directs the general functions related to the acceptance, review, organization, and maintenance of various client agreements, is responsible for the oversight and management of the analysts who assist with same. Essential functions include:

  • Creates guidelines and provides oversight regarding the review and maintenance of client agreements documents, including Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCG), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ), Engagement Letters (EL) to facilitate initial responses, processes for review, and maintaining clear repository and documentation of the engagement agreements in place for each client.
  • Supervises and coordinates with Client Engagement leadership as well as other firmwide stakeholders to create and implement best practices and procedures related to the review and negotiation of OCG and other client agreements.
  • With support from Conflicts management, takes primary responsibility for supervising the analysts within the Client Agreements team, and coordinates with the Conflicts managers and director regarding staffing, training, and resource needs.  
  • Oversees the maintenance of database records for client agreements to accurately reflect the engagement terms in effect for all clients.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and summarizes provisions contained within client agreements for reporting to others within the firm for record-keeping and decision-making purposes. 
  • Handles multiple OCG and client agreements projects simultaneously, and works closely with Conflicts management, conflicts counsel, partners , and other leadership across the firm as needed to achieve objectives.
  • Leverages available technology to assist in the analysis and maintenance of client agreements, including Intapp Open and Intapp Terms.
  • Assist with the creation, documentation, and implementation of client agreements policies and procedures. 
  • Assists with the coordination of group mailboxes related to client agreements. 
  • Serves as a resource and a central point of contact for regarding client agreements.
  • Manage the Client Agreement team, including hiring, training, development and providing direction and oversight of the essential job functions. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred or commensurate professional and educational experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a large law firm setting, including at least one (1) year of experience reviewing Outside Counsel Guidelines. 
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of how a law firm operates, including awareness of the key elements in the relationships between a firm and its clients.
  • Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required. 
  • Experience with Intapp Open and/or Intapp Terms strongly preferred.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete under time constraints.
  • Ability to perform effectively with moderate supervision and within established time limits and on-going deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally and provide exceptional service.
  • Ability to respond to requests requiring analysis and decision making for new clients/matter processing.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $94,000 - $180,000
  • State of Colorado: $87,000 - $155,000
  • State of Illinois: $85,000 - $165,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $94,000 - $180,000
  • State of Maryland: $91,000 - $138,000
  • State of Minnesota: $94,000 - $156,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $102,000 - $186,000
  • State of New York: $88,000 - $190,000
  • State of Vermont: $93,000 - $179,000
  • State of Washington: $91,000 - $173,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $122,000 - $179,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
