
Job Title: Summer Legal Intern

*Please note this is a Hybrid position, so reporting to our Troy, MI office is required 1-2 days per week.
Position Summary:
The Summer Legal Intern will support the Legal team with various tasks, including legal research, contract/document review, regulatory compliance, and administrative support. This is an excellent opportunity for a law student to gain hands-on experience in the mortgage and financial services industry.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on federal and state mortgage laws and regulations
- Assist with the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents and contracts
- Support compliance initiatives and help ensure internal policies are up to date
- Assist with responding to subpoenas, legal inquiries, and/or document requests
- Review and summarize statutes, case law, or regulatory guidance affecting the mortgage industry
- Participate in audits, state exams, and compliance reviews
- Collaborate with General Counsel and Paralegal on special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited law school (second or third year preferred)
- Strong interest in real estate, financial services, or corporate law
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
