CACI is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support the Department of Justice’s mission. This position plays a critical role and involves working on high-profile cases. CACI is looking for candidates who are able to work in Washington, DC. Paralegal duties focus on litigation support in preparation for upcoming trials in the months ahead.
In this role, the Senior Paralegal works closely with federal prosecutors supporting the Market, Government Consumer Fraud Unit in a fast-paced setting and assist in the investigation and prosecution of various matters to enforce the laws of the United States, up to and including support assistance for witness interviews, deposition preparation, and in-courtroom trial support.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare a variety of substantive legal documents, including subpoenas, notices of deposition, interrogatories, document requests, garnishments, and applications for writ of execution. These documents are drafted for review and approval of Assistant U.S. Attorneys prior to issue. Upon approval, processes the documents and performs necessary follow-up.
• Review and maintain inventory of documents and other materials produced pursuant to subpoena or other discovery requests.
• Use a variety of automated research tools as well as public information databases and other automated resources to research the financial background of a debtor and the case.
• Prepare a variety of discovery-related documents, e.g. discovery letters, production logs, privilege logs, deposition lists and digests, by applying a thorough knowledge of the Federal Rules of Evidence and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and application of practical litigative experience.
• Provide litigative case management and organizes cases by preparing and organizing discovery and exhibits.
• Maintain regular contact with the applicable federal agencies to ensure compliance with department-wide directives regarding financial litigation.
• Monitor the progress of pending cases and initiates action to ensure that legal pleadings, forms, reports, correspondence, and other documents are prepared and submitted within established deadlines. Keeps appropriate staff members informed about the status of cases.
• Compile, organize, and index various discovery and evidence exhibits, and witness testimony.
• Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the Unit.
• The ability to use established databases, performs data searches, report design, and other data retrieval assignments.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or equivalent level of education may be substituted.
• At least 2 years of litigation paralegal experience, including 1 year of experience in automated litigation support.
• Must understand Mandarin language including the ability to read, review, understand documents in Mandarin, and summarize contents in English.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills with sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
• Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Must have Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
• Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
• Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
• DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US Citizenship required).

Pay Range:
This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
Minimum Required Hourly Wage:
$31.69
