The Pricing & Legal Project Management team supports the firm’s attorneys with full spectrum strategic financial and commercial insights, including: creation and management of alternative fee arrangements, development of pricing strategies, and application of creative approaches to important business problems that impact client acquisition and retention. These objectives enhance operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and firm profitability. The team supports a broad range of practice areas across all departments and offices by delivering strategic advice, leveraging advanced project management principles, and integrating technology solutions to maintain and advance the firm’s premier market position.

The Legal Project Management (LPM) team delivers data insights and process improvements that support both legal practitioners and business services. The Senior Analyst, Legal Project Management will play a crucial role in advancing our LPM services, both maintaining our existing matter management solutions and supporting the design and implementation of large-scale strategic initiatives. This position calls for a dynamic, data-driven, process-oriented individual who is eager to partner with professionals across the organization and deliver measurable ROI.

This position is available as fully remote.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Elevate usage of matter management tools to facilitate real-time budget monitoring for attorneys.
  • Maintain and enhance alert systems to ensure attorneys are proactively informed about financial performance.
  • Develop matter budgets and project plans at the onset for critical client matters.
  • Analyze historical matter data to support accurate fee estimates and streamlined pricing strategies, collaborating closely with the Pricing team.
  • Assist with providing necessary responses and reporting for all Requests of Proposals (RFPs) and pitches that contain LPM components.
  • Leverage data visualization tools to enhance the timeliness and interpretation of financial metrics and complex workflows.
  • Coordinate with the Pricing team during annual client rate review, and offer recommendations to improve financial performance going forward (leverage, managing write-offs, etc.).
  • Define and apply data to drive process improvements, uncover efficiencies, and inform decision-making across legal practices and business services.
  • Partner with the Pricing and Finance teams to develop improved team infrastructure (workflows, checklists, knowledge repositories, etc.) to streamline and mature the Pricing & LPM functions.
  • Generate and present data analyses to showcase matter performance and trends.
  • Assist with cross-functional initiatives by leveraging LPM capabilities and expertise.
  • Support the assessment and implementation of LPM technology tools and training modules.
  • Explore and integrate technology solutions into attorney workflows to enhance operational efficiency in support of firm competitiveness.
  • Support team awareness of practice technology and LPM trends across the industry.
  • Promote the development of tailored AI/LLM solutions to enable large-scale matter analysis for scoping, budgeting, and real-time matter management.
  • Draft and edit highly professional, accurate, and actionable email correspondence.
  • Assist with pricing requests and other team deliverables as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for candidates with backgrounds in business, economics, law, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience in project management, financial analysis, or a related role within a professional services setting. Legal industry experience (and legal project management) strongly preferred.
  • Law degree a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong skills in data analysis and modeling, proficiency in Excel, and experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred.
  • Experience creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets (creative use of formulas, macros, pivot tables, and modeling) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SQL and legal billing systems (e.g., Aderant) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to project demands.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
     
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $116,875 - $158,125 per yearAustin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $105,400 - $142,600 per yearSalt Lake City and all other locations: $93,500 - $126,500 per year

The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
