Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Litigation Paralegal with experience in complex litigation, particularly in healthcare law, corporate disputes, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced legal setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of corporate and healthcare litigation, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation. Assist attorneys with pre-litigation insurance coverage matters. Ensure smooth operations and excellent client service.
- Conduct legal research, gather case law, and summarize findings.
- Draft and proofread routine and complex legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Manage document production, including e-discovery, Bates stamping, and indexing, as well as review, analyze, and organize document productions from other litigants.
- Coordinate and track case deadlines, ensuring compliance with court schedules and procedural rules.
- Assist in preparing deposition summaries, trial exhibits, and witness preparation materials.
- Display proficiency with Virginia federal and state court filing procedures and ability to adapt to other jurisdictions and arbitration procedures.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain case files and litigation databases.
- Attend trials, arbitrations, hearings, and depositions as needed to support attorneys.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation defense experience, preferably in corporate or healthcare law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research databases (LexisNexis), e-discovery platforms, document management systems, and video conference applications (Teams, Zoom).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and follow client guidelines and attorney preferences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and capable of managing multiple tasks with a friendly and efficient demeanor.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and corporate governance are a plus.
- Ability to work on-site and to attend trials, arbitrations, hearings, and depositions as needed.
