The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one fulltime position in the class of Child Support Attorney I/ II/ III/ IV, at the Colusa-Sutter-Yolo Regional Child Support Agency (RCSA).
This position will support offices that are in Woodland CA, Yuba City CA, and Colusa CA.The level of which a candidate is placed is dependent on their background and experience. The salary range for each classification level is as follows:Child Support Attorney I $82,513.60 - $100,256.00 AnnuallyChild Support Attorney II $101,441.60 - $123,302.40 AnnuallyChild Support Attorney III $124,883.20 - $151,819.20 AnnuallyChild Support Attorney IV $146,640.00 - $178,256.00 Annually

Child Support Attorney IUnder supervision, to learn and perform a wide variety of professional legal work in connection with child support civil and criminal cases; to provide legal advice and assistance in child support issues to department and law enforcement staff; may be the attorney of record in all legal actions and proceedings filed on behalf of the Department with the courts and administrative law agencies; and to perform related work as required.This is the entry-level class in the Child Support Attorney series. Positions in this class learn and perform a variety of litigation and other legal duties. The Child Support Attorney I is distinguished from the journey Child Support Attorney II class in that assignments to the journey class require more specific child support legal expertise and receive less supervision and review. Child Support Attorney IIUnder supervision, to learn and perform a wide variety of professional legal work in connection with child support civil and criminal cases; to provide legal advice and assistance in child support issues to department and law enforcement staff; may be the attorney of record in all legal actions and proceedings filed on behalf of the Department with the courts and administrative law agencies; and to perform related work as required.This is the journey level in the Child Support Attorney series. Positions in this class perform a broad range of litigation and other legal duties and are distinguished from positions in the class of Child Support Attorney I by handling assignments that require specific child support legal expedience, less supervision, and review.To view the FULL job description, please click here.
Child Support Attorney IIIUnder supervision, to learn and perform a wide variety of professional legal work in connection with child support civil and criminal cases; to provide legal advice and assistance in child support issues to department and law enforcement staff; may be the attorney of record in all legal actions and proceedings filed on behalf of the Department with the courts and administrative law agencies; and to perform related work as required.This is the advanced journey level in the Child Support Attorney class series. Positions in this class perform a broad range of litigation and other legal duties and are distinguished from the Attorney II class by handling assignments that cover the entire range of child support litigation and advice activities. Incumbents appointed to this class are generally assigned more difficult and sensitive civil and criminal cases, and the preparation of legal opinions on issues that are complex and have far-reaching implications. Child Support Attorney IVUnder supervision, to learn and perform a wide variety of professional legal work in connection with child support civil and criminal cases; to provide legal advice and assistance in child support issues to department and law enforcement staff; may be the attorney of record in all legal actions and proceedings filed on behalf of the Department with the courts and administrative law agencies; and to perform related work as requiredThis is the highest level non-supervisory class in the Child Support Attorney series. Positions in this class are regularly assigned the most complex child law and child support cases for litigation. Incumbents also perform legal research on complex child law and child support issues and advise on establishing departmental procedures for prosecuting such cases. Minimum Qualifications
Child Support Attorney I
Experience: No experience required.
Child Support Attorney IIExperience: One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Child Support Attorney I; or two (2) years of experience as a general practicing attorney.
Child Support Attorney IIIExperience: One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Child Support Attorney II; or three (3) years of experience as a general practicing attorney.
Child Support Attorney IVExperience: One year of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Child Support Attorney III; or four years of experience as a general practicing attorney.
In addition to the experience requirement, ALL applicants must meet the licensing and background requirements outlined below.Licenses: Active membership in the State Bar of California.Some positions in this classification may require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.Background Requirements: Incumbents in this class have access to Federal Tax Information and are subject to confidentiality and safeguarding requirements of Internal Revenue Code 6103(p)(4). As such, an individual selected for this position is subject to a thorough background investigation as stipulated in Section 5.1.1 of Internal Revenue Service Publication 1075, which includes the following:- Review of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint results;
- Check of local law enforcement agencies where the subject has lived, worked and/or attended school within the last five (5) years and, if applicable, of the appropriate agency for any identified arrests; and
- Verification of an employee's eligibility to work in the United States.
