Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP seeks a Receptionist/Legal Administrative Assistant for its top‑tier practice in Denver, CO. This is a non-exempt position with a 37.50 hour work week and the need for occasional overtime. Once trained, the Receptionist/Legal Administrative Assistant will be afforded the opportunity to work remotely two days each week, as approved by the Human Resources Manager. Job Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Human Resources Manager and provides reception coverage and administrative support to a number of attorneys. The following is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities. Responsibilities may be changed or assigned as deemed necessary by the Firm:
- Answer main reception phones and assist callers.
- Greet incoming visitors, clients, and vendors.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
- Assist with office cleanliness and organization of supplies for the office, kitchen, and conference room areas.
- Accurately enter attorney time and adhere to all time-related deadlines.
- Assist with monthly client billing process and adhere to all billing-related deadlines.
- Assist with attorneys’ calendars by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, and travel.
- Maintain and update attorney contacts and filing systems, both paper and electronic.
- Circulate conflict check emails; monitor responses, open new matters, and assist with preparation of engagement letters.
- Prepare check requests for invoices and expense reports for travel reimbursements; maintain Excel spreadsheet for all invoice and reimbursement submissions.
- Maintain accurate records of professional memberships, bar associations, and related attorney activities.
- Undertake occasional research projects.
- Format documents, convert PDFs to Word, and prepare Tables of Contents and Authorities.
- Draft, type, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, memos, presentations, charts, and other materials to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Assist with legal filings, client meetings, hearings, and events.
- Prepare news and regulatory update emails for distribution to attorneys.
Qualifications:

- Keen attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
- Capacity to balance day-to-day work challenges and manage multiple projects successfully while working under tight deadlines with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
- A self-starter with the ability to think and work independently.
Education and Experience:
- Requires a college degree or two (2) years’ experience in a law firm or professional services environment. Law firm experience is strongly preferred.
- Requires experience and proficiency in Teams, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and Windows 11.
- Experience with document management systems (i.e., NetDocs or similar platform), SalesForce, and legal timekeeping and expense platforms (i.e., LMS) strongly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is based on years of experience; the range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 annually. Staff are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on their performance during the preceding 12 months. In addition to compensation and bonuses, full-time staff are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; long term disability insurance; accidental death or dismemberment insurance; short term disability insurance; travel insurance; a 401(k) plan; profit sharing (once eligible); parental leave; vacation/personal leave; pre-tax payment/contributions for transportation, parking, and dependent care; and a health savings account (if enrolled in a high deductible medical plan). All benefits listed above are subject to change at the discretion of the Partnership.
