Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy Protection Specialist

We are seeking a talented Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy Protection Specialist to join our team in support of the Boeing Business at one of the following locations: Tukwila, WA; Everett, WA; Seal Beach, CA; Hazelwood, MO; Oklahoma City, OK; North Charleston, SC; Chicago, IL, or Mesa, AZ.

This position will lead information release review activities across the Boeing Enterprise, overseeing all aspects of the proprietary release review process. The role requires close collaboration and frequent communication with employees and leaders across the Boeing enterprise, including all functions, global locations, and Business Units. The specialist will work with Boeing Intellectual Property Leadership, the Law Department, Engineering, and Business Unit Leaders to coordinate the review of employees’ release requests to protect Boeing Intellectual Property.

  • Experience in multiple areas including compliance, intellectual property, law, business, and engineering

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage the proprietary release process end-to-end

  • Collaborate daily with functional and business stakeholders to review and disposition release requests

  • Consult daily with employees seeking approval for release of information

  • Assess process effectiveness and lead improvements to ensure adequate protection of Boeing Intellectual Property

  • Ensure reviews are completed in a timely manner

  • Develop process health metrics

  • Analyze data, recognize trends, and propose improvements

  • Identify awareness and training opportunities

  • Solicit user feedback, assess, and respond accordingly

  • Advise stakeholders on additional appropriate company processes for release of information

  • Support additional release activities as required

  • Advise employees on all Intellectual Property protection processes and controls

  • Support the Information Governance team as required, including all aspects of Intellectual Property protection and Records & Information Management

  • Support Boeing Intellectual Property Core and Business Unit teams as required

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • Experience in leadership and driving difficult tasks to completion

  • 3+ years’ experience coordinating activities with multiple groups or organizations

  • Experience in Intellectual Property (IP) policies and procedures

  • Experience developing, contributing to, and/or maintaining processes, policies, and procedures

  • Ability to lead an integrated team through personal influence without direct line authority over team members

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Graduate degree

  • Experience with release of information processes at Boeing
