
Position Summary: Under general supervision, provides essential front‐line customer service for City of Humble Municipal Court by performing routine clerical and accounting duties. Duties include processing citations, collecting fees and fines, scheduling court dates, trials or hearings and works with the Municipal Court Judge to conduct Court business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and process all incoming citations, warnings, complaints, etc. for completeness and accuracy.
- Collection of fees and fines, scheduling court dates, trials or hearings.
- Prepare court dockets, jury charges, subpoenas, and a variety of correspondence to defendants and/or attorneys.
- Work with the Municipal Court Judge in the courtroom and conduct the Courts business in a professional manner.
- Perform under time restraints, high volume workload and produce a significant volume of work efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Work under high pressure including distractions, heavy phone volume and must be able to handle difficult people with professionalism.
- Maintain files and correspondence for the court.
- Use Municipal Court software and programs, public records retention software and programs, and remain current on upgrades or changes.
- Provides assistance and information to the public
- Any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires timely and dependable attendance at work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi‐task and remain calm in stressful or demanding situations.
- Familiar with public records retention requirements, public records retention software and programs, and Municipal Court software.
- Knowledge of court operations and municipal laws.
- Possess strong organizational, computer and basic accounting skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Municipal Court experience (preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in customer service and cash receipts
- Experience using MS office applications
- Bilingual is a plus, but not required
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Experience with Municipal Court software and public records retention software and programs
- Must be able to pass physical, drug screen and background check.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions: This job is performed primarily in a controlled office environment and may experience periods of working under tight schedules and deadlines, multiple distractions, heavy phone volume and difficult situations with the public.
